WDC Gathering to Consider KP Reform

(IDEX Online News) – Kimberley Process reform, beneficiation in Africa and a gala dinner honoring De Beers Chairman Nicky Oppenheimer are part of the agenda of the World Diamond Council's annual meeting later this month in Vicenza, Italy.

The WDC is the body that represents the diamond industry in KP. As such, it plays an important role in helping shape the Process.

Among the speakers at the annual meeting are KP Chair Ambassador Gillian A. Milovanovic and South Africa's Minister of Mineral Resources Susan Shabangu, who will deliver the keynote address.

Other speakers include heads and the Israeli, Belgian, Indian and UAE diamond industry's and government officials.

The WDC will vote on a proposal to expand the WDC board of directors from 20 to 25 members as well as elect new board members.
