The IDEX Online Price Report for May 16, 2012
May 17, 12(IDEX Online News) – This week, price increases are seen among fancy cuts, mainly in +0.40cts and among pique goods. Some of the polished diamond price decreases that took place last week have ended, reversing their course. This includes all the 3-carat and smaller rounds.
The price decreases are seen mainly in the higher quality goods, according to the IDEX Online Polished Diamond Price Report.
Rounds
- Prices of 0.23-0.29 ct VVS, G color goods declined 2.2%-2.3% in the past week.
- L / I2 items in 0.80-0.89 ct range increased 5.3%.
- 0.90-0.99 ct JK / I1 items in increased +4.6%.
- M / I1 goods weighing 1.25-1.99 ct are at bargain prices after losing 3.7%
- The MN / I1 2.00-2.99 ct items declined by about 3.5%.
- 5 ct H / SI2 are down 3.2%
Fancy Cuts
- Price increases for 0.18-0.22 ct I / VVS2 fancies, up 5.6% to $950/ct, while E / IF goods lost 3.1%
- 0.30-0.39 H / VVS2 +3.3% to $1,550/ct and J / VS2 +5.9% to $900
- Many price increases of 2.4%-4.8% for 0.45-0.49 cts in VS2-I2 in better colors.
- One carat Princess Cuts in the 1.00-1.49 ct range are in strong demand
- The prices of Princess Cuts in the 2.00-2.49 ct range that increased last week, started to soften this week. However, I-L / IF fancies are moving upwards.
