SA Minister of Mineral Resources and KP Chair to Address WDC Congress

(IDEX Online News) – The South African minister for Mineral Resources, Susan Shabangu and Kimberley Process (KP) chair Gillian Milovanovic are among the speakers set to address the 35th World Diamond Congress.

According to conference organizers, their participation “underscores the importance” that the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) attach to issues “related to proposals for changes in the Kimberley Process as well as broader issues like conflict diamonds, beneficiation etc that have been dominant themes for discussion within the industry over the last decade or so.”

The World Diamond Congress is the bi-annual general assembly of the WFDB and IDMA.

The Congress will take place in Mumbai from October 14-17.
