Gitanjali Kicks Off IIJW By Backing Pro-Girl-Child Campaign
August 19, 12 The campaign, run in collaboration with Gr8 magazine, is aimed at countering violence against women and eradicating female foeticide. IIJW features top-end jewelry brands, design houses and manufacturers showcasing their product in a fashion-show setting. Each participating company has a one-hour slot. With big design names and participation on the ramp from the Indian film and television industry, the event has high consumer-interest value. The GJEPC’s aim is to promote Indian jewelry design and fabrication capabilities to the widest possible professional and consumer audience as part of its bid to infuse high value into the ‘Made in India’ label for jewelry. IIJW will run over the next few days, with a grand finale on the night of August 23, which is the official post-show event after the first day of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), the leading Indian gem and jewelry fair.
