(IDEX Online News) – Pandora has become the latest company to be certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
To achieve certification, the company was assessed by accredited, third-party auditors to verify its conformity to the RJC's Code of Practices. The Code contains 146 provisions defining best practices from the sourcing of raw materials through manufacturing to the sale of finished jewelry.
"The Council is delighted to congratulate Pandora on its certification,” said Michael Rae, CEO of the RJC. “Since it joined the RJC, Pandora has been an active participant in our organisation's efforts to define and shape the standards for our industry."
"Although a successful RJC certification is just one element in our social responsibility strategy, it marks an important milestone in our journey towards full sustainability,” said Claus Teilmann Petersen, vice president of Group Corporate Social Responsibility at Pandora. “Also, it demonstrates our determination to raise the bar for responsible business practices throughout the jewelry value chain."
