JA Seeks Global Industry Support for KP Reform Proposals

· A commitment not to supply diamonds connected to violence or conflict in any way.
· Asking their suppliers not to do business with those connected with violence or conflict in any way.
· Asking their governments to support KP reform proposals such as the expansion of the definition of conflict diamonds.

Failing adequate reform, the letter warns, governments could turn to restrictive legislations. It cites the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as an example of restrictive legislation.
