Signet Holiday Sales +3.3% to $1.24 Billion

(IDEX Online News) – Signet Jewelers reported a 3.3 percent increase in same-store sales for the nine-week holiday season that ended December 29. The group’s

U.S.

division including Kay and Jared led the good showing with a 4.7 percent increase for the period.

Total sales were $1.24 billion, with the U.S. division alone accounting for $1.03 billion. U.K. sales dropped 2.6 percent to $203.4 million.

“We are pleased with our holiday season performance in both sales and margins," Signet CEO Mike Barnes commented. " We saw particularly strong performance in the weeks and days leading up to Christmas. Business trends continue to be encouraging in the U.S. and have improved in the U.K. after the holiday season.”
