(IDEX Online News) – After a short stint as CEO of Dan Gertler's Azura Consulting, Eli Avidar returned recently to his post as managing director of the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI). IDI did not announce his return.
IDI did announce the appointment of Gilat Elizov Gefen as managing director of IDI's representative office in Hong Kong. She is replacing Michal Gordon who served in this position for the past two years.
The IDI is a semi-governmental umbrella organization for the Israeli diamond industry. The Hong Kong office is responsible for promoting trade with Asian markets, especially Hong Kong and China, which have become a major focus for Israeli diamond exports.
Elizov Gefen has served in several capacities with the Jewish Women's Association in Hong Kong, where she currently resides. She holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the Technion and an MBA from the Recanati School of Management in Tel Aviv University.
According to IDI Chairman Moti Ganz, based on the successful model of the Hong Kong office, IDI will soon open a similar office in Mumbai in the Bharat Diamond Bourse.
