Leo Schachter Diamonds tops Exporters List

(IDEX Online News) – The top 37 Israeli exporters in 2012 represented 54.3 percent of the country’s total net polished exports during the year. The top exporter was Leo Schachter Diamonds exporting $317 million worth of polished diamonds in 2012.
This is the second year that Leo Schachter Diamonds tops the list of exporters. For 11 years L.L.D. Diamonds Ltd headed the list.
The Israeli Diamond Controller’s office publishes every year a list of top 25 exporters. This year, 12 of the top companies asked not to be listed, and the next top companies are reported (see list below).
The top 25 firms exported $2.148 billion worth of polished diamonds, about 38 percent of Israel’s $5.568 billion net polished diamond exports.
The next 12 firms exported $878 million worth of goods in 2012. The total value of net polished exports by all 37 firms was $3.026 billion.
