(IDEX Online News) – The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) will hold a rough and polished diamond sales event for accredited diamond dealers, during the third week of March at the exchange. The initiative follows the success of the "Israel Diamond Week" held in December in New York.
IDE will initially invite members of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) and other U.S. diamond industry and trade organizations to the International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI), IDE president Yair Sahar said.
"These include members of the diamond bourses in Miami and Los Angeles, and of the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America (DMIA)," he added.
Sahar said the exchange would also gladly welcome diamond dealers who hold membership of other bourses affiliated to the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and of other accredited diamond organizations worldwide. With the aim of attracting diamond buyers to Israel, the IDE will also feature other events through March.
Starting in early March, a number of companies will hold diamond tenders at the exchange. Russian diamond mining giant Alrosa will hold a rough diamond tender for stones of 10.8 carats and larger.
A tender by DTC broker I.Hennig & Co. will hold a tender with its partner Fusion Alternatives Tenders and Ediamonds, a firm that tenders rough diamonds produced in Africa and Australia, will hold a third tender.
The Israeli-French firm Tzoffey's 1818 will hold an exclusive auction for special loose diamonds and extraordinary diamond jewelry pieces.
In addition, international industry commentators and analysts will be giving presentations on the industry's burning issues as part of the week's events.
