Brussels Heist: Most Victims Repaid Already (Updated)

(IDEX Online News) – Insurance payments are being made to the victims of the February 18 heist at Brussels airport. About $50 million worth of diamonds were stolen during the heist.

Brinks announced that all their customers were paid in full within 48 hours of the robbery. On Friday Malca-Amit announced that the payment process has already begun.

A Ferrari representative told IDEX Online the company is about to pay its clients in the next few days as well. The fourth shipping company involved in the theft is G4S. It did not make any statements about payments.

About $50 million worth of polished and rough diamonds were stolen from a Helvetic Airways plane during the heist. The goods were en route to Zurich and from there destined to India, Israel, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Update: Ferrari and G4S informed IDEX Online that they have paid their customers in full all losses from the robbery. G4S said the payment was made within 4 days of the robbery. Ferrari said it paid its clients within few days. Ferrari’s total payments amounted to several millions of dollars.
