$1 Billion in Diamonds at Diamond Week

(IDEX Online News) - More than 100 firms have registered to take part in the U.S. / International Diamond Week to be held March 17-20 at the Israel Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan.

According to event organizers, some $1 billion worth of polished goods will be offered for at the event. In addition to the offered polished goods, rough diamond tenders will be held during the week.

"With the number of visiting firms already past 100, we're looking forward to an exciting and dynamic Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange," IDE President Yair Sahar said, adding that he expects that the final number of attendant will be significantly higher.

"With $1 billion of polished diamonds being offered for sale by Israeli firms, there is a huge choice of goods on offer for our overseas friends," Sahar said.

Gal Babayoff, of Tzoffey's 1818, said that about 20 exclusive buyers had already announced they will be arriving especially for the auction of hundreds of high-quality gemstones and jewelry pieces.
