Jewelry Line Celebrates Dutch Coronation with Orange Diamonds and Sapphires

(IDEX Online News) – In celebration of the coronation of King Willem-Alexander in Amsterdam today (Tuesday), Royal Asscher has launched a special jewelry collection set with orange diamonds and sapphires.

The jewelry collection, named ‘Fancy Royals,’ consists of three rings available in 18-karat white or yellow gold set with orange and white diamonds, and silver with orange sapphires and white diamonds. The items are priced from $2,575 each.

Royal Asscher has a close relationship with different Royal families. In 1908, the Asscher brothers cut the biggest diamond in the world, the Cullinan. The 530-carat Cullinan I is mounted in the cross of the Scepter, and the 317-carat Cullinan II is mounted in St. Edward's Crown. Both are part of the British Royal Crown Jewels.

In 1980, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands granted the Asscher Diamond Company the Royal title in acknowledgment of their role in the diamond industry. In 2011, this Royal title was extended for another 25 years.
