May 21, 13
(IDEX Online News) – Researchers at Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting say they have identified six main trends relating to consumer behavior in the jewelry, diamonds and watch industries.
The VicenzaOro Show.
The forecasting body says the first trend is what it calls Experimental Nature, where the focus is on the mechanical structure of items, demonstrating the beauty of flowers “in paradox combinations of technical and botanical materials.” The category combines all functional, natural and technological elements.
Meanwhile, Mutations relates to items influenced by sci-fi, the cosmos and 1960s retro futurism. Retro and contemporary space ideals inspire items featuring spheres, either in clusters or sculpted.
Shadow Reality is a mixture of past aesthetic codes and a 21st century version of rococo style accompanied by a dark and melancholy atmosphere.
Ethno-pop is a futuristic interpretation of ethnic style and know-how creating innovative and contemporary designs in a mixture of materials, blending tribal shapes with bright colors and new techniques.
Mix'n Craft relates to the renewed interest in traditional crafts. These include nostalgic designs and traditional materials blended to create “a chic effect where grandma's memories are given a modern touch with a DIY approach.”
Finally, Visionary Structures features graphic shapes that combine art and science, technology and simplicity offering unlimited scope for design. Motion, techno-sensitive engineering and 3D effects play with shapes and forge new perspectives.
Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting explained its research at the May 18-22 VicenzaOro Spring International Gold and Jewellery Show.
