Thirty Brands to Participate in India International Jewellery Week

(IDEX Online News) – Thirty brands and designers are due to take part in the fourth edition of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s (GJEPC) India International Jewellery Week 2013. The inauguration will be attended by senior members of GJEPC, government officials and GJEPC brand ambassador, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor.
Each day of the four-day event will feature seven or eight jewelry fashion shows, allowing designers to showcase their latest designs and innovations. The event will be kicked off by with a collection by Gitanjali Gems and will end with a “Best of Best” show highlighting the best creations by each designer.
“The show has gone from strength to strength in its size and popularity with each edition and this year too, we continue our endeavor to promote India as the global innovation and design hub for jewelry,” said GJEPC chairman Vipul Shah.
“Today, given the large talent pool of designers and manufacturers as well as the vast resources that we have, we believe that the IIJW will further consolidate the demand for Indian jewelry in the international market. The potential that this segment presents for our industry is immense and basket of products that the country has to offer is enormous,” he added.
IIJW will take place at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai from August 4-8. It is being presented by GIA and will also be supported by leading gem and jewelry associations, including the World Gold Council and Forevermark.
