US Recycled Diamonds Firm to Hold First Sale in Mumbai
August 06, 13The sale in India marks an expansion of the firm’s international activities. The August 12-14 sale event will feature approximately 40,000 carats of recycled melee, breakout and single stones, both certified and non-certified, in all shapes, sizes and qualities.
“India is one of the largest and most important diamond markets in the world,” said White Pine Trading Director of Sales Myles Schakler. “Hosting this special event in Mumbai, the country’s diamond capital, underscores our commitment to providing well-sorted recycled diamond parcels to satisfy the demands of buyers and sellers globally.
“In selecting Mumbai for this event, we are reaching an even larger segment of the diamond industry that would otherwise be unable to attend our regularly scheduled events in the United States and Hong Kong.
The sales event will be held in the SEEPZ Gems & Jewellery Complex-II.
White Pine representatives will be in Mumbai from August 7 to meet with clients and facilitate trade in advance of the event.
The company buys recycled, polished diamonds of all sizes and grades, either loose or in second-hand diamond jewelry, from the smallest melee to diamonds one carat and above. It remanufactures chipped, damaged and poorly cut diamonds to improve them.
Many of the diamonds are set in jewelry, and the rest sold to a network of retailers, jewelry manufacturers, diamond manufacturers, and dealers, mostly in the United States and Asia.
