Rosy Blue Employee Taking on Cycling Challenge for Charity

(IDEX Online News) – Chikashi Miyamoto of De Beers Sightholder Rosy Blue will be taking part in the Turin–Monte Carlo cycling challenge next month to support Akshaya Patra, the international charity providing food for education to children in India.

The cycling challenge from September 4-8 will cover 470 km (292 miles) of distance and 11,700 m (38,400 ft) of climbs including some of the most challenging mountain passes featured in previous Giro d’Italia routes.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation provides food to children who would otherwise need to forego education for income by becoming child laborers. It provides a midday meal program in 19 locations in nine Indian states, and an incentive for them to continue their education.

Rosy Blue is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact which has 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
