Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair Kicks Off

The fair starts at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), near Hong Kong airport, and runs until September 15.
The AWE venue is for exhibitors of diamonds, jewelry raw materials, equipment and packaging, while the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) hosts exhibitors of finished jewelry from September 13 to 17.
The two venues provide 135,000 square meters of exhibition space.
The annual show attracts more than 50,000 visitors and 3,500 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions.
The show organizers say the event has the world's biggest diamond pavilion, covering more than 16,000 square meters of space, and hosting in excess of 400 diamond suppliers including those housed in the Antwerp World Diamond Centre pavilion and in the Israel Diamond Institute pavilion, as well as diamantaires from India and the United States.
In total, there are companies from 22 countries and regions in the diamond and gemstone pavilions, including Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, and the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA).
More than 1,400 Hong Kong companies will be exhibiting, making the fair the single largest display of Hong Kong's jewelry.
In addition, in excess of 1,600 gemstone suppliers from around the world will be displaying rough and polished gemstones.
