Alrosa Posts Rise in Q1-Q3 Production

(IDEX Online News) – Russia's Alrosa produced 9.9 million carats of diamonds in the third quarter of this year, an increase of 9 percent compared to the year-earlier period, and 27.1 million carats for the first nine months of the year, an increase of 6 percent on the year.

"The increase in production was due primarily to the acquisition of the diamond mining company Nizhne-Lenskoye, an increase in ore grade at the Jubilee pipe and a higher output from the Mir underground mine," the miner said.
