Indian Polished Diamond Exports Rise 11% in September

(IDEX Online News) – India's Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) reported an 11-percent rise on the year in polished diamond exports for September to $1.685 billion.
For the first fiscal year so far (April to September), India's polished diamond exports surged 32.2 percent to $10.26 billion.
Imports of polished goods soared by 118.2 percent to $606.4 million in September, and by 81.4 percent to $3.38 billion in the April to September period.
Rough diamond imports dropped 6.0 percent year on year to $1.82 billion in September, but increased by 22.5 percent in April-September to $1.82 billion.
Exports of rough diamonds dropped 21.6 percent to $123.7 million, but for the April to September period soared 19.0 percent to $887.4 million.
