Israel Diamond Week Off to Good Start, Says DDC President Kaufman

(IDEX Online News) – Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York President Reuven Kaufman described the first day of the Israel Diamond Week (November 11) at the DDC as a great success.

More than 500 firms from the DDC and the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) participated on the first day, buying and selling goods on the DDC Trading Floor.

Kaufman said large amounts of trading were likely to take place in the coming days. The event runs until November 14.

He said the buyers’ week “would represent an outstanding start to the holiday season, traditionally the most productive period of the year for the diamond business”.

Meanwhile, IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer reported that his members were pleased with the large turnout on the first day. Both he and Kaufman praised the collaboration between their bourses and said it should serve as a model for inter-bourse cooperation worldwide.
