UBM to Hold Gujarat Gem and Jewelry Fair

(IDEX Online News) – UBM India is partnering with the Gem & Jewellery Trade Council of India (GJTCI) to host the Gujarat Jewellery & Gem Fair 2014. The B2B fair is designed to cater to gem and jewelry businesses across the state and will also showcase Gujarati products to an international audience.

The show will feature both modern and traditional Indian gems and jewelry.

Gujarat’s gem and jewelry sector is estimated to be growing at a rate of 15 percent a year. It currently contributes 72 percent to India’s jewelry exports. It also accounts for about 80 percent of the diamonds processed and 95 percent of the diamonds exported from India – primarily through Surat.

Other main manufacturing markets in the state include Junagadh, Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

The Gujarat Jewellery & Gem Fair 2014 will be held from June 20-22 at the Gujarat University Convention & Exhibition Centre, Ahmedabad.
