The speakers at the event included IPSDE President Shlomo Eshed, Israel Diamond Exchange President Shmuel Schnitzer, Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association President Bumi Traub, Ramat Gan Mayor Israel Zinger, Manufacturers Association Chairman Zvi Oren and the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef.
Guests watched a video showing the history of the Israel Precious Stones and Diamonds Exchange along with congratulatory messages from the former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yisrael Lau, and former IPSDE presidents.
Awards were presented to Shlomo Eshed, who has served as the IPSDE President for 11 years, as well as to Mati Shemesh, the IPSDE's acting President, Vice-President and Treasurer.
In addition, awards were given to leading figures in the Israeli diamond industry, including Ganz, Traub, and Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai, and to industry veterans.
“After 40 years of intense activity and a forward-looking vision, I strongly believe there is much to do for the benefit and business growth of our exchange's members, in terms of exposure to the market and business development,” said IPSDE General Manager Ronen Perlmuter.
“During the last few years, we have witnessed a positive change in the industry, as precious stones have become increasingly popular in international markets and demand for precious stones in auctions around the world has increased significantly. I expect this year to be very successful for precious and semi-precious stones on global markets”, said IPSDE President Shlomo Eshed.
