The standout item at the sale was a pair of circular-cut, D, internally flawless diamonds weighing 22.60 carats and 22.31 carats that were bought for $8,565,000.
Other top items included a 40.43-carat, D, potentially flawless, oval-cut diamond bought for $7,669,000, or $189,700 per carat.
Meanwhile, a 6.10-carat, VVS1, fancy intense pink, rectangular-cut diamond ring by Harry Winston was bought for $5,765,000, or $945,000 per carat.
Another Harry Winston diamond, weighing 20.10 carats, of D color, VVS1, and rectangular cut, sold for $2,461,000, or $122,400 per carat, and a 24.53-carat, D, VS2, pear-shaped diamond was snapped up for $2,225,000 ($90,700 per carat).
In addition, a 42.96-carat, L, VS1, rectangular-cut diamond was sold for $1,865,000, while a 2.49-carat, old-mine cut, fancy yellowish green diamond was bought for $1,805,000 ($724,900 per carat).
The next big diamond and jewelry auction to be held by Christie's will be in Geneva on May 14 where it will offer 'The Blue', the largest flawless vivid blue diamond in the world, and 'The Ocean Dream', the largest vivid blue-green diamond in the world.
