CVD Diamond Maker Scio Diamond Posts 49% Rise in Production
April 30, 14 (IDEX Online News) – Lab-grown diamond manufacturer Scio Diamond Technology Corporation announced that its diamond production for the last fiscal year increased 49 percent. The company manufactured more than 23,000 carats of rough stones.
Scio, which began production in 2012, also said the reliability of its production runs had become more consistent, enabling it to close the gap on its internal targets for duration and product reliability.
The company replaced older equipment with new reactors and upgraded production software to ensure consistent growth patterns.
The company recently announced a significant technological breakthrough in its new 4" Diamond Growth Technology, which produces Type IIa, Single Crystal CVD diamonds. Scio said that production will double when all of its reactors are converted to this technology.
