UPDATE 2-WFDB Joins IDE, AWDC in Denouncing Brussels Terror Attack

May 27, 14 by Albert Robinson

(IDEX Online News) – The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has denounced the terrorist attack that took place at the Jewish Museum in Brussels on Saturday when four people were killed.

“It was with great sadness that we learnt of the senseless killing of four people, two Israelis and two Belgian people at the Jewish Museum in Brussels, Belgium, on Saturday,” said WFDB President Ernie Blom in a statement.

“We, the WFDB, condemn all forms of violence anywhere in the world and our prayers and thoughts go out to the victims’ relatives and loved ones.”

Earlier in the week Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) President Shmuel Schnitzer denounced the terrorist attack.

“The members and the board of the Israel Diamond Exchange are shocked and appalled by the horrific terrorist attack that claimed the innocent lives of four visitors to the museum on Saturday,” Schnitzer wrote.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and call on the Belgian authorities to spare no effort in apprehending and punishing the perpetrators of this cowardly attack.”

The Antwerp diamond sector also condemned the attack and expressed its condolences to the victims and their families.

“The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) and the Antwerp diamond sector are shocked by the tragic events of last Saturday in the Jewish Museum of Brussels, where four innocent lives were lost in a terrorist attack.

“On behalf of the Antwerp diamond sector, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the victims and the families,” said AWDC CEO Ari Epstein.

The Antwerp diamond sector held a minute of silence on Monday at 12:00 o’clock.
