RJC Holding Responsible Supply Chain Seminar At London Show
July 31, 14Leading speakers from the jewelry industry will outline their views of the business imperative to support RJC’s Code of Practices (COP).
Opening remarks will be made by Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CIBJO, The World Jewellery Confederation, to be followed by RJC Chairman James Courage.
The panel moderator will be RJC’s Interim CEO Catherine Sproule.
The speakers include Maria Mursell, Training Coordinator, RJC, on How members’ certification journey translates to a key understanding of human rights issues and provenance claims in the jewelry supply chain.
Assheton Stewart Carter, Senior Sustainability Advisor, Goldlake Group – an RJC member, will give a talk on How the RJC COP supports a responsible industry from a mining and precious metal group’s perspective.
He will be followed by Estelle Levin, Director, Estelle Levin Ltd (Development Consultancy) on The role of artisanal and small-scale mining in the supply chain, to be followed by Marylyn Carrigan, Professor of Marketing, Coventry University and Co-Director of The Centre for Trust and Ethical Behaviour (CETEB), on Best practice advice for small businesses in the UK.
Michael Rawlinson, CEO, The National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G.) – an RJC Trade Association Member, will speak on the issue of How retailers can capitalize on certification, while Philip Olden, Consultant to Signet Jewelers Ltd – an RJC Founding Member – will talk on The impact the retail sector can have on responsible business practices through the jewelry supply chain.
