Pantone Reveals Move to Softer Hues in Spring 2015 Fashion Report
September 18, 14 (IDEX Online News) – Color expert Pantone has given some indication of the potential must-have color of 2015 with the recent release of the PANTONE® Fashion Colour Report Spring 2015.
While 2014 was the year of “Radiant Orchid,” which managed to combine fuchsia, purple and pink undertones in one hue, 2015 looks set to have a quieter, softer palette.
Among Pantone’s lusciously named colors for 2015’s spring fashion for women are Aquamarine, Scuba Blue, Lucite Green, Classic Blue, Toasted Almond, Strawberry Ice, Tangerine, Custard, Marsala and Glacier Gray.
For men, the top colors are Dusk Blue, Glacier Gray, Treetop, Classic Blue, Toasted Almond, Woodbine, Sandstone, Titanium, Marsala and Lavender Herb.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute explained that 2015’s color direction is following a minimalistic “en plein air” theme that take a cue from nature. “Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.”
The Pantone Color of the Year will be announced later in the year, but jewelers and manufacturers should already be thinking about how they can incorporate color into their design strategies.
