REEDS Jewelers Launches Private Credit Card Program
October 13, 14
(IDEX Online News) – REEDS Jewelers has announced plans to launch a private label credit card next year. The company said the REEDS Jewelers Card, which will launch on March 1, 2015, will provide its customers with a dedicated line of credit and special financing options for purchasing jewelry.
“Jewelry is a very memorable purchase for our customers,” said Alan M. Zimmer, president and CEO of REEDS, adding that the new program gives the jewelers’ customers a wider range of purchase benefits than are currently available.
According to the third annual Major Purchase Consumer Study, commissioned by REEDS’ partner in the credit card launch – Synchrony Financial – more than 80 percent of fine jewelry shoppers begin their research online, reviewing product styles as well as promotions and payment options, and spend 45 days on average before making a major jewelry purchase.
The report also found that 75 percent of cardholders always seek promotional financing options when making a jewelry purchase and nearly half would choose not to make a purchase or would go elsewhere if retail financing were not available.
REEDS Jewelers, Inc., which has been in business since 1946, operates 59 retail stores in 13 states.
