WDC Gives Easier Access to System of Warranties Guidelines
January 06, 15 Edward Asscher (IDEX Online News) – The World Diamond Council (WDC) has announced an update to its website that provides easier access to the System of Warranties (SoW) guidelines.
The SoW is a voluntary system of industry self-regulation created to support and strengthen the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. It requires buyers and sellers of rough and polished diamonds, as well as jewelry containing diamonds, to include specific wording on every invoice that provides evidence to buyers all the way down to the consumer level that the diamonds being sold are conflict free.
“One of my priorities as president is to enhance the WDC's outreach to the industry,” said WDC president Edward Asscher. “Providing easier access to the System of Warranties guidelines on the WDC website is a first step in a series of improvements to our communication with the industry.”
