AWDC and Diamond Administration of China Sign MOU

(IDEX Online News) – The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) and the government-controlled Diamond Administration of China (DAC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that aims to strengthen ties between the two diamond centers.

“The aim of the MOU is to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the two diamond sectors, and to promote the development of the diamond industries in both countries,” said Ari Epstein, AWDC CEO.

The agreement aims to encourage the exchange of market and industry trends data, promote and support Belgian and Chinese diamond trade and investments as well as creating marketing campaigns to encourage the sale of diamonds and diamond jewelry.

The MOU was signed during the recent Antwerp-Shanghai Investment Forum, which welcomed an economic and political delegation led by Shanghai Party secretary and former mayor of Shanghai Han Zheng. The Antwerp forum was a follow-up to the official visit to Shanghai in October last year by Antwerp mayor Bart De Wever.
