67 Israeli Companies to Exhibit in IDI Pavilion at Hong Kong Show
June 18, 15(IDEX Online News) – Almost 80 Israeli companies will be exhibiting at the upcoming Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. Sixty-seven exhibitors will participate in the expanded Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) pavilion at the fair, with another 10 companies located throughout the show.
“Asian markets, and especially Hong Kong, are very important targets for our industry. IDI now organizes large national diamond pavilions at four trade shows in Hong Kong annually - in March, June, September and November,” said IDI managing director Eli Avidar. “We have invested great efforts at making Israeli diamantaires accessible to buyers.
To do so, the IDI will be utilizing its “Find Your Diamond” system, which allows buyers to request that companies exhibiting at the show bring specific diamonds with them. In addition to allowing buyers to plan in advance, the system gives buyers access to the exhibitors’ full stocks.
In addition, the IDI has launched a special website for the Hong Kong show with details of all the participating Israeli companies, including interactive images of actual diamonds on offer.
Asia is Israel’s second largest market for polished diamonds representing about 35 percent of its total polished diamond exports. Exports to Hong Kong totaled $1.8 billion in 2014.
IDI operates an office in Hong Kong, along with a Chinese-language diamond portal, both of which, says Avidar, have been instrumental in fostering direct business contacts between the Israeli industry and the Far East.
