WJA Calls for Applications for 2016 Diva Design Competition
August 20, 15(IDEX Online News) – The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) is accepting entries for its 2016 DIVA Design Competition. The contest is open to all women, irrespective of whether they are employed in the jewelry trade or whether they have received formal training.
The winner in each category will receive $200 and a trip to New York City to attend the WJA’s annual In The Spotlight reception in March.
The DIVA Design Competition is offered in two divisions:
In the Division One category, which is being run in partnership with the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) Spectrum Awards, applicants enter an actual piece of jewelry.
Women who enter the Spectrum awards are automatically eligible for an additional GemDIVA award in four of AGTA’s categories, Bridal, Business/Day Wear, Classical and Evening Wear.
In Division Two, known as DazzleDIVA, applicants enter renderings of designs that have yet to be realized or photographs of already-existing jewels.
The theme for Division Two is “Transformation,” mirroring the WJA’s theme “Connect and Transform.” One DazzleDIVA winner will be awarded in each of the following categories; Bridal Wear, Evening Wear and Business/Day Wear.
