Gem-A announces Council Election Results
August 30, 15(IDEX Online News) – Gem-A, the Gemmological Association of Great Britain has announced the results of its election for seats on its Council. The association elected nine new members, seven from the UK and two from the US.
The new Council members are: Kathryn Bonanno, former vice president of the American Gemmologists Association (AGA); Justine Carmody; Paul Greer, managing director of Bentley & Skinner; Kerry Gregory, former secretary of Gem-A’s South West Branch; Alan Hart, head of Earth Science collections at the Natural History Museum; Alan Hodgkinson, president of the Scottish Gemmological Association, Dr Jack Ogden, former Gem-A and NAG CEO and former secretary general of CIBJO; Richard Slater, jewelry appraiser and Christopher P Smith, president of the American Gemological Laboratories (AGL).
The nine new members join existing Council members Miranda Wells, Mary Burland and Nigel Israel.
The new board is now expected to appoint a new CEO following the departure of James Riley earlier this year.
