Four Men Plead Guilty to Hatton Garden Heist
September 08, 15(IDEX Online News) – Four men have pleaded guilty to plotting the Hatton Garden heist, in which a gang broke into a concrete vault and stole £10 million ($15.3 million) worth of valuables, including diamonds, from 72 secure boxes over the Easter weekend holiday.
The gang managed to access the goods by boring a hole through a two-meter thick reinforced concrete wall.
Three of those who admitted their guilt were pensioners, aged 67, 74 and 76. The fourth defendant is aged 58.
Three others denied conspiracy to burgle and are due to go to trial in November, reported The Guardian.
Two others have yet to enter pleas.
According to the paper, all seven who entered pleas denied a second charge of conspiracy to convert or transfer a quantity of jewellery and other stolen goods between 1 April and 19 May.
Most of the stolen goods have been recovered.
