(IDEX Online News) – Smaller and larger round diamonds saw prices dropping this week. Those between 0.9 and 4 carats saw less movement, with the shifts that did take place being primarily positive.

 

When it came to fancies, the picture was more positive with price declines evident in only a few limited sizes. Most of the positive changes were seen in the middle to better clarities.

·         0.18-0.22 cts negative changes including D-H / SI2 down 4-5%

 

·         0.23-0.29 cts G / VVS1 down 2.5%

 

·         0.30-0.39 cts negative changes such as D / SI1-2 and G-H / IF down 2%

 

·         0.40-0.44 cts negative changes including H-I / IF down 2-3.5%

 

·         0.45-0.49 cts I / VVS1-2 down 2-4%

 

·         0.50-0.69 cts many negative changes including D / VS1-VS2 down 1-3%

 

·         0.70-0.79 cts changes such as J / VVS1-2 down 3% and N / SI2 up 3.5%

 

·         0.80-0.89 cts H / VS1 down 1%

 

·         0.90-0.99 cts F / VVS2 and H / IF up 2%

 

·         1.00-1.24 cts D-E / VVS1 and E / SI2 up 3%

 

·         1.25-1.49 cts N / VS2 down 3.5%

 

·         1.50-1.99 cts G / VVS1 up 3%

 

·         2 cts a few positive changes including K / IF, L / VVS1+ and M / VVS2 up 3%

 

·         3 cts no change

 

·         4 cts D-E / VS1-2 down 3%

 

·         5 cts F-J / VVS2 up 2-3% and E-G / VS1-SI1 down 2-3%
