Rio Tinto Completes Inaugural Rough Diamond Viewing at BDB

(IDEX Online News) – Rio Tinto Diamonds has completed its inaugural rough diamond viewing at the India Diamond Trading Centre (IDTC) at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai.

The rough from Argyle and Diavik was available for viewing at the BDB before being returned to Antwerp for auction.

Rio Tinto said the IDTC offered an improved level of access and efficiency for local companies and were very well attended by Indian based traders and manufacturers.

“We are delighted to be the first producer to use the state-of-the-art India Diamond Trading Centre facility for diamond viewings,” said Patrick Coppens, general manager of sales for Rio Tinto’s diamonds business.
