White Pine Data Shows Buy Back of Diamonds Strongest Immediately Post-Holiday
December 06, 15(IDEX Online News) – White Pine Trading has released data showing that over the last two holiday seasons alone, buy-back transactions have spiked in January and February.
The company, which specializes in recycled diamond and fine jewelry, undertook a multi-year statistical review of consumer buy-back transactions that showed a 44.5-percent average increase in activity from pre-to post-holiday.
White Pine offers a no-cost turnkey partnership program that allows retailers, via a mail-in service and select instore buying events, to buy back customers’ diamonds, jewelry and watches – for store credit or instant payment. The company said that the program has increased sales and loyalty for its partners.
White Pine said that the uptick in transactions can be partially attributed gifting, with customers returning luxury items for exchange or to upgrade. January is also a period of higher divorce rates, with customers sell their items.
