Surat Diamond Association Joins with Microsoft to Bring Cloud Technology to SMEs

(IDEX Online News) – Microsoft has joined with the Surat Diamond Association (SDA) to help some 10,000 small and medium-sized diamond companies to increase their reach through cloud technology.

According to the Times of India (TOI), Microsoft will provide the technology at minimal cost.

The partnership is designed to help companies who lack the financial resources to develop the technological side of their businesses to access international markets rather than being forced to remain local, as has been the case for many up until now.

"Our aim is to reach last customer and provide him with technology with which he would be able to securely trade his product in international market like the big traders do," said Manohar Hotchandani, director, business development, Microsoft India, as quoted by the TOI.
