ALROSA President Makes Working Visit to India

(IDEX Online News) – Members of ALROSA’s management team, including president, Andrey Zharkov, recently visited Mumbai and Surat, India.

ALROSA representatives visited the Special Notified Zone (SNZ) at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), which was opened last year. Meetings in 2014 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, facilitated the opening of the trade platform, allowing producers direct access to the Indian market.

Zharkov attended the opening ceremony of the ninth Signature India International Jewelry Show held in Mumbai.

Other meetings were held with company officials and the management of the BDB and the Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) – at which further prospects of cooperation were discussed.

ALROSA’s delegation also familiarized itself with the company’s clients in Surat, paying a visit to cutting and jewelry enterprises.
