De Beers Enters Into $650,000 Partnership with UNAM
February 28, 16(IDEX Online News) – De Beers Namibia Holdings announced that it has pledged N$10 million ($650,000) over the next five years to support an academic program in the country.
The program is run through the University of Namibia’s (UNAM) southern campus at Keetmanshoop, and aims to complement government efforts to support Namibian children in marginalized communities to fulfill their academic potential.
For the 2016 intake, 60 of the 87 recipients selected for support are girls. Their books, tuition and accommodation fees will be at least partly paid for under the terms of the program.
