CIBJO Launches Upgraded Website
March 24, 16(IDEX Online News) – The World Jewelry Confederation (CIBJO) has launched its new website, with technical upgrades, more user information about the organization and jewelry sector, as well as upgraded functionality.
The website’s launch is the first part of a three-stage upgrade of CIBJO’s online presence. There will be a members-only module, which will provide online services for the organization’s members called “MY CIBJO,” and then to be followed up with a CIBJO app for cell phones and tablet computers.
CIBJO said that the website is supposed to grow organically, with a function to add increasing amounts of information about the organization and issues facing the international jewelry and gemstone sector. It will also serve as a platform for CIBJO to offer its tools and services, including its Blue Books of industry standards and nomenclature for the diamond, coloured gemstone, pearl, coral and precious metals sectors, and also gemmological laboratories.
CIBJO president Gaetano Cavalieri said that the website was the main way in which the trade body presents the work it does on behalf of the jewelry and gemstone sectors, as well as being a platform that encourages connectivity between member organizations.
Non-CIBJO members will have access to certain parts of the website for a nominal fee.
