AWDC Issues Alert Over Fake Sierra Leone KP Certificates

(IDEX Online News) – The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has called for vigilance after the Hong Kong Customs and Excise department raised suspicions over a shipment from Sierra Leone.

The Hong Kong authorities said that upon inspection they noticed that the Kimberley Process (KP) certificate accompanying the shipment was fake – which was confirmed by the Sierra Leone’s KP authority.

The Kimberley Process has called on its members to remain vigilant.
