60 Israeli Diamond Firms to Appear at JCK Las Vegas
May 30, 16(IDEX Online News) – Around 60 Israeli diamond companies are expected to take part at the upcoming JCK Las Vegas show, making the Israeli diamond industry among the largest international exhibitor groups.
According to the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI), the Israel Diamond Pavilion will comprise 34 exhibitors, with more than 30 other Israeli diamond businesses exhibiting at other locations throughout the show.
There will be two Find Your Diamond stations at the show – one in the “First Look” area at the show’s entranceway and the other in the Israel Diamond Pavilion Lounge. The system enables prospective buyers to search inventory of all Israeli exhibitors at the show, and can now be accessed on smartphones.
“It’s no secret that the diamond industry worldwide has been going through trying times,” said IDI chairman Shmuel Schnitzer. “However we are seeing signs of a recovery. The good news is that the American market is doing well and the demand for diamonds is growing. That’s why we are optimistic about JCK Las Vegas this year. The United States is our largest market for polished diamonds and we are working hard to maintain our key position in this market,” he said.
In 2015, 40 percent or $2 billion worth of Israel’s net $5 billion polished diamond exports went to the US market.
