June 15, 16
(IDEX Online News) – As if he was not in the news enough these days, the engagement ring that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump gave to Marla Maples in 1991, is up for auction.
Estate jewelry auctioneer Joseph DuMouchelle will offer the 7.45-carat emerald-cut diamond ring by Harry Winston at its June 29th auction, with a pre-sale estimate of $300,000. The couple divorced in 1999, and Maples selected Jospeh DuMouchelle to auction the ring, and donated a portion of the $110,000 June 2000 sale price to charity.
“The Harry Winston ring has multiple levels of provenance including the fact it was made by Winston and owned by Marla Maples and Donald Trump,” said owner, president and jewelry expert Joseph DuMouchelle. “Fortunately, this ring has it all. The pieces included in this sale are heirlooms of investment quality."
The Maples - Trump diamond ring will be sold alongside estate pieces from Verdura, Cartier, David Webb and Tiffany & Co.
