Stornoway Commences Renard Plant Commissioning
June 23, 16(IDEX Online News) – Stornoway Diamond Corporation has announced the completion of Pre-Operational Verification at its Renard Project diamond process plant, including the plant’s commissioning.
All principal plant equipment and control systems have bow been installed and tested, and the plant operating staff received the hand-over from Stornoway’s construction management team.
The commissioning process is expected to take several weeks, and will involve operation of the plant’s crushers, vibrating screens, conveyors, pumps, diamond recovery circuits, and processed kimberlite management systems.
“The formal commencement of plant commissioning…has been achieved approximately eight weeks ahead of our re-baselined construction schedule, which was already a five-month improvement on the execution plan established in July 2014,” said Stornoway president and CEO Matt Manson.
The Renard Diamond Project is located 350 kilometers north of Chibougamau in the James Bay region of north-central Québec.
