Lucapa Mulls AIM Listing
July 04, 16(IDEX Online News) – Lucapa Diamond Company is considering listing on London’s AIM for smaller and growing companies as it seeks further investor options, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.
The Australian-based company, whose focus is on alluvial mining in Angola, said that it made logical sense to visit London to investigate the viability of joining the AIM. Lucapa is currently listed in Sydney and Frankfurt, but its CEO Stephen Wetherall said there was no need to rush an entrance to London’s junior market as its alluvial operation is currently generating enough cash to support the business.
Wetherall dismissed fears that the UK’s decision to leave the European Union – Brexit – will have too negative an impact on Lucapa’s decision. He added that people have capital to invest, and the drop in some share prices had made them an attractive proposition.
Lucapa recovered a 404-carat Type II-a D-color gem, the largest ever found in Angola and the 27th biggest in the world, in February.
