GJEPC Reports 5% Rise in Polished Exports in April-July
August 28, 16(IDEX Online News) – The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), India’s umbrella organization for the promotion of the trade, reported that polished diamond exports increased by 5.2 percent to $7.25 billion in the April-July period.
Imports of polished goods increased by a similar proportion – up 5.3 percent to $997 million – according to interim data provided by the GJEPC.
Meanwhile, exports of rough diamonds soared 15.7 percent higher to $453.2 million in the period.
As for rough goods, they jumped 13.3 percent to $6 billion in the period.
