RDH Diamonds Supplies Stones For Multi-Million Dollar Selling Boehmer et Bassenge Jewels
November 17, 16(IDEX Online) – RDH Diamonds supplied the diamonds which Boehmer et Bassenge jewels used in its jewelry items which were sold at Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction in Geneva on Tuesday, the company said.
Boehmer et Bassenge launched its new Maison de Haute Joaillerie based in Paris, by introducing two outstanding pieces of jewelry from their first collection.
The atelier is named in honor of Charles Boehmer and Paul Bassenge, Parisian jewelers of the 18th century, who created an exceptional and historically famous diamond necklace during the reign of Louis XV.
Working exclusively with a handful of large, D color, Flawless clarity diamonds of perfect polish and symmetry, combined with years of experience and preparation, Boehmer et Bassenge is producing only a few pieces annually.
Christie’s in Geneva offered two items for sale, a necklace and a pair of earrings.
Miroir de l’Amour is the world’s largest perfect pear-shaped diamond drops ever to be offered at auction, Christie’s said. Each drop is a D color, Flawless clarity diamond of 52.55 and 50.47 carats, with symmetrical cuts. The center stones sit below 30 Internally Flawless D color diamonds in pear and marquise-cuts weighing 20.41 carats, bringing the total weight of the earrings to 123.43 carats. The Miroir de l’Amour earrings sold for for $17,613,175, setting a new world auction record for a pair of earrings.
Meanwhile, Le Jardin d’Isabelle is a diamond necklace containing three D color, Flawless clarity diamonds of 31.38, 12.11 and 8.07 carats. Composed into a garland of flowers and accented with intense pink diamond bows, it is made from 176 white pear-shaped, marquise-cut and round shaped diamonds, accounting for 91.80 carats. All the stones are D color and Flawless clarity. The pink accents are made of 258 diamonds and weigh 3.92 carats.
Every step of the design process is preserved, including the designer’s original gouache drawings which are part of the offering. The Le Jardin d’Isabelle necklace sold for $8,068,424.
