Yehuda Diamonds To Demonstrate HPHT-Grown Detector At JCK Show

(IDEX Online) – Yehuda Diamonds will be demonstrating a new machine to detect HPHT-grown diamonds at the JCK Show.
The machine can reliably detect HPHT lab-grown diamonds in 5 seconds, mounted or un-mounted, in a large parcel of melee or as a single stone, among cut or uncut diamonds, said Dror Yehuda.
"It's fast, foolproof and easy. I'm afraid we're about to learn that HPHT-grown diamonds have infiltrated much further down the fine-diamond distribution chain than anyone suspected," Yehuda said.
The machine is particularly suitable for jewelers when buying and selling diamonds, and when taking in jewelry for repair, he said, adding that he believes 99 percent of lab-grown D-E color, IF-VVS diamonds between 1 and 10 carats are HPHT. "This machine identifies them instantly. And 99 percent of all lab-grown melee is HPHT, not CVD. In a single glance, you'll be able to spot every HPHT-grown diamond in the parcel." Yehuda added that the relatively low price of the machine of $1,495 enabled a much wider range of industry players to benefit from the ability to detect HPHT-grown diamonds.
